The Sims is a life simulation video game series, developed by EA Maxis and published by Electronic Arts. This article talks you about 5 games like sims. Now in addition to this, The Sims Studio also came to the development part. Players control their Sims in various activities and can form relationships.

The main Sims series are the Sims,  the Sims 2, the Sims 3 and latest version the Sims 4. Each series enhances the features like improved tools for Sim creation, enhanced build and buy mode functions, and the introduction of wishes and goals etc. Because of this peculiarities, the franchise has sold nearly 200 million copies worldwide, and it is one of the best selling video games series of all time.

1. Anno 2205

The Anno 2205 is the best game in my list of games like the Sims. The Anno 2205 is a city building and economic simulation game developed by Blue Byte and published by Ubisoft. The 2205 is the sixth game of the Anno series, and was released on 3 November 2015.

You can control your growing corporation simultaneously on multiple locations on Earth and the Moon. In the game, you can take the role of a leader from a corporation and must compete against other corporations in developing future technologies. In this game you can build different metropolises on Earth.

You can build different buildings, thereby increasing population, so that you have to build farms for food. Also in advance age you can build infrastructures like robot production facilities. Similar to Sims, different parts can be added to buildings to enhance their functions.

2. Second Life

Second Life is a virtual world game and is developed by Linden Lab. The initial release  on June 23, 2003. And after some years this is the one of best selling game. You can play this game in Windows, Mac and Linux.

Similar to Sims you can create virtual players, called avatars. In Sims your virtual player is called sim. In second life you can go anywhere and interact with people, buy products, socialize, participate in individual and group activities, build, create, and buy or sell property etc. 

3. Tropico 5

The Tropico 5 is the third game of my list of games like the sims. Tropico 5 is a construction and management simulation video game developed by Haemimont Games and released on 23 May 2014. The game is released for Microsoft Windows, Linux, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, Xbox One.

I already told you that it is a construction type simulation game, so that after playing this game you will know how a country is developing. You can build an area for agriculture, or lay roads in a neat grid,  or anything for the need of your country. Tropico 5 includes 4 different eras, starting from Colonial Era, World Wars, Cold Wars and progressing up to Modern Times which allows progress from the 19th to the 21st century.

You can build different apartments, aerodromes, schools, colleges, resorts, military buildings, nuclear power stations, mansions, electricity generating stations, Aircraft Carrier, Airport, Bank, Beach Site, Cathedral, Catholic Mission, Chocolate Factory, Church, Cineplex, Circus etc.

4. Planet Coaster

Planet Coaster is the third game of my list of games like the sims. The Planet Coaster is a construction and management simulation video game developed and published by Frontier Developments. The game is released on 17 November 2016 for Windows. In this game you can build different theme park rides and roller coasters like in Six Flags Greater Adventure amusement parks.

So building of different equipment and rider will give you good pleasure, and also you have to arrange them in a proper manner. Planet Coaster game has three different modes, namely Sandbox, Challenge, and Career. In the career mode, players assume the role of a theme park manager he have to complete tasks such as constructing unfinished roller coasters or hiring janitors.

In Sandbox mode, you have to do tasks such as construct your own theme park on an empty plot of land. The challenge mode is similar to the sandbox mode, but with added difficulty, as you need to take funds into your account. So it is little bit difficult. It is similar in real time construction.

5. Restaurant Empire II

The Restaurant Empire 2 is the last game in my list of games like the sims. The game is releases on June 2009 but it is very interesting. In this game you can controls the kind of cuisine the restaurant serves  in America along with Munich, other cities include Los Angeles, Paris, and Rome.

The game has features such as new themes for American restaurants, over 700 pieces of new internal and external furniture and decorations, the addition of German cuisine and the city of Munich, and several others. The main advantage compared to it predecessor is that you can buy different restaurant including a coffee shop and a dessert house. Also you can do different activities such as can change the colours of  uniforms on your staffs.
